Connecticut motorcyclist - a wrongful death victim?

In Connecticut, a recent fatal accident may interest residents including the New Haven wrongful death attorneys. A 66-year-old motorcyclist from Bristol died after a recent collision with a limousine near Washington. Police reported that the collision happened at the intersection of routes 199 and 47. Officers responding to the scene discovered that the motorcyclist had sustained traumatic injuries. The victim was a 66-year-old motorcyclist from Bristol. He was airlifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury but was declared dead on arrival.

The other vehicle involved in the accident is owned by a local limousine company The 68-year-old driver of the car and his two passengers were unharmed in the collision. The accident is still under investigation by state police, who are also looking for anyone who might have witnessed the accident to help them understand what caused the crash.

Police report that the victim was wearing a helmet when the crash happened. Motorcycle riders, however, have minimal protection whenever they are on the road. Because of this fact, serious injuries or death often result when a rider is involved in a collision with another vehicle.

A family that loses a loved one in an accident involving other people's actions may choose to file a wrongful death suit if the accident resulted from the negligence of another party. Wrongful death may occur from medical malpractice, occupational accident or exposure and motor vehicle accident. With this, a Connecticut law firm specializing in serious injury lawsuits may be able to help a family with the emotional pain and suffering that results from an accident.

Wrongful death cases vary, depending on the situation and the state. However, when unfortunate accidents like the one highlighted above occur, the family of the deceased may face financial difficulties in addition to the pain from the loss of a loved one. If the other driver is found negligent, the surviving family may receive compensation through a wrongful death claim. The compensation may support the family for funeral expenses, lost wages and emotional distress.
